BIG CAT

MRROAR.

Jungle Fever Concept

Alright. Let's begin. It was a good weekend. The kind you don't mind reliving. Spending time with family and friends--eating spam musubi's and pizza is never a bad thing. Caught Astro Boy---sort of an inner child loyalty thing to the classic character. Anyway---here's the WIP on my recent painting. There's too much contrast right now--so I still need to sort that out. Need to bring in alot more of the lighting--and there's more characters to add. Nevertheless--progress. The name of the game is progress. Havagreat week everyone!

Deadpool Movie Teaser Art

So at long last--I think of somethin to do with pool' here--and it ended up being a fan art teaser movie type thing. I'm a big fan of the character and just needed to do something for it. That being the case--here it is. Ehnjoy.

Concept Madusa

So I'm about to call it a night when I run into this old painting I NEVER finished for the game I had worked on a looong while back as an intern. It always bothers me the idea of not finishing--so I dug deep and started to repaint ol' mad here. Turns out--I was hooked! And--here it is. Above is before--where she's a little bit cutesy and looking a tad agitated, so for the new one I took it to a more aggresive yet "seductive" tone, adding highlights, defining facial structure, so on and so forth. Well, time to call it in--and that be that!

Pressing On

So in between time outside of the studio, family, and other activities--I normally take a bit of time to continue on solo project pieces. This is the continuing evolution from the post last week. A bit more painting done on all three characters, the jesture on the panther is stronger---but there is a bit too much darkness and contrast on the two animals in the back. Value wise the human is popping a bit better, but there is still a long way to go on this. Keep creating, painting, and loving what you do everyone.

Go Time Again

Been awhile--my apologies. Life, family, all that jazz. Now it's time to reset--reboot--refresh. Stage two of my latest piece. I'll post the work in progress as it goes along. Cheers, doods.

From the House of Con

So, its been a few days since Comic Con 09--man what an experience. From meeting Geoff Darrow (The Matrix, Big Guy Rusty the boy robot), J. Scott Cambell (Gen 13, Danger Girl), Joe Jusko (Marvel/DC painter), Dean Yeagle (Mandy), to Tony Diterlizzi and Holly Black (Spiderwick Chronicles)--just to name a few---it definitely ranks high on my once in a lifetime meter. It was also my first time reviewing portfolios on behalf of Petrol (an honor indeed)---and I gotta say there is ALOT of talent out there. Thank you to all you artists for dropping by---keep the great work growin and who knows--I'm sure I'll be seeing some of you again. In the meantime--this is the revised painting of the previous character. First in a series. Watchout---here comes the art!
